Another week gone by! They seem to be flying past now! I suppose you could call this another fairly quiet week to be honest. The life of a French high school student is so busy! There is very little emphasis on homework here, the majority of school work is done at school. As a result I haven't been on any real major adventures in the last week. However, that makes it in no way boring for me. Over the last week I have finally had a chance to experience typical French life in all its glory without the problems of the flu or jet lag! Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were fairly normal so i'll jump right to Thursday. Because the school I go to is a Lycée Agricole (farming and environmental focussed school) the students get to go on cool field trips to experience what it is like to work in some of the agricultural industries. On Thursday we visited the local forrest where there was a major logging operation in progress. The school certainly picked the right day to go, despite being -13 that morning it was sunny blue sky and no wind. We got to get up close to all the different logging apparatus in action much to the despair of some of the tree loving members of the class :D. It was a super cool experience and despite being 75% frozen by the end of it I had a pretty good time. Jumping forward to Friday evening I went along to the local football club and played with their senior mens 1st and 2nd sides in a couple of hours of indoor football. It was a great time but I was wowed by the insane skills these guys possess. Some of them would easily be able to play in the regional teams in New Zealand with their wide range of skills and I'm told this is only a small club! I did manage a couple of goals so all was not lost! Over this weekend I have basically been chilling at home with the fam because the weather isn't great, we did go on a shopping trip and a walk but there wasn't much to speak of on those. Right now we around about to have some of Valerie's friends over for dinner so Germain and I baked some really tasty looking cheese balls that I can't remember the name of.. But they were made out of local cheese (which is AMAZING!)
